Construction on 8-foot paved trail from Porter Park to Village Shops set to begin
Speaking of walking paths…
You’re likely to see construction crews working along Tomahawk Road between Porter Park and the Village Shops in the coming weeks as they install a new eight-foot wide paved trail. Similar trails were installed between Corinth Square and Franklin Park earlier this year.
The trails are part of Prairie Village’s parks master plan, which seeks to increase the walkability of the city.
Public Works director Bruce McNabb said the first phase of the project will include tree removal along the trailway, though the trees will eventually be replaced.
The trail is scheduled to be completed by December 1.
