Tavern, Story and Urban Table get nods in Pitch’s Best of KC issue
The wave of restaurants that have opened at the Village Shops and Corinth Square aren’t just new — they’re also very good, at least according to The Pitch’s annual Best of KC issue.
Urban Table, Tavern in the Village and Story all got a shout out in the issue, which hit stands last week.
Tavern took home honors for in the Best Burger category for its Tavern Burger (“It comes with fries but you might not even notice them until you’ve devoured the burger,” says The Pitch.)
Urban Table got the nod for Best Chili, with The Pitch saying “you won’t find a snazzier presentation of this dish anywhere in the city. In fact, you may not even know that you want a snazzy chili until you’ve had Urban Table’s.”
And Story is enjoying the sweet success of its kudos for Best German Chocolate Cake. Story’s version is a “fancy deconstruction,” says The Pitch.
Fairway fixture Rainy Day Books made the issue as well, getting the award for Best Bookstore.
