Spread the love: It’s Peanut Butter Week in Prairie Village
You know what’s good? Peanut butter.
And you know what’s even better than getting peanut butter? Giving it.
It’s Peanut Butter Week in Prairie Village. For the 27th year, the city and Harvesters, the community food network, are teaming up to sponsor a peanut butter drive. The rich, peanutty goodness collected during the week will go to Harvesters, which provides food assistance to up to 66,000 people every week. Peanut butter is one of Harvester’s most-needed items, and is a densely caloric and nutritious food (in moderation, of course). In 2009, Prairie Villagers donated more than 3,500 pounds of peanut butter in the drive.
To contribute, drop a jar or three off at City Hall or any Prairie Village school. You can also donate online at harvesters.org.
