So, we’ve been to a few block parties by this point. We’ve seen the good. And we’ve seen the awesome. But I’m not sure we’ve seen a program as solid from top to bottom as Indian Fields’ shindig Sunday evening.
For starters, there was live music. Like, good live music, from the Ernest James Zydeco Band:
We saw totally genuine dancing in the streets. Major props.
Second, there was something for the kids. Scott Henderson the Magician was on hand to perform feats of amazement including but not limited to: sawing off someone’s arm and then reattaching it, and making balloon animals:
Homes association president Mark Lieb said the group decided to kick things up a notch this year after a decent inaugural outing in 2010. The homes association has about 200 houses in it in the neighborhood just north of Prairie Elementary, and it looked a like a good number of those households were represented at the party.
Anyway, excellent work Indian Fields. And remember, if you’re having a block party and would like us to come by to eat your food, drink your drinks, and take a couple of pictures along the way, drop us a line.
