Frye crowned 2011 SM East Homecoming Queen
The queen is dead. Long live the queen.
I mean, metaphorically speaking. Although, I guess even metaphorically speaking, that’s not exactly accurate. It was more like an orderly, predetermined transition. So like Conan O’Brien taking over for Jay Leno. Though come to think of it, that doesn’t really work either…
Let’s just scratch the analogies. What I’m trying to get at is SM East has a new Homecoming Queen.
SM East students elected senior Emily Frye for the honor this year. Frye and her four attendants were crowned at half time of Saturday’s football game.
Frye is the co-president of Pack of Pals, Student Council senior class secretary, and the co-chair of SHARE’s Project Warmth. Last year’s queen, Betsy Blessen, was back in town from the University of Arkansas to hand over the crown:
First attendant: Carolyn Welter. Student Council student body president, Hauberk assistant editor, tennis.
Second attendant: Danielle Norton. Hauberk photo editor, basketball, National Honor Society.
Third attendant: Lanie Leek. Cheerleading co-captain, SHARE executive, swim team.
Fourth attendant: Emily Kerr. Cross country, Pack of Pals, Harbinger page editor.
