Your guide to the second annual Prairie Village Jazz Festival
Put your ears on a fast today, Village people. Because they’re going to get a feast tomorrow.
The second annual Prairie Village Jazz Festival kicks off on the city’s municipal grounds Saturday at 2 p.m. with a decidedly homegrown act: The SM East Blue Knights jazz band. The full lineup is as follows:
2 p.m.: Blue Knights
2:45 p.m.: Shay Estes and Trio ALL
4 p.m.: 12th Street Jump live broadcast
5:20 p.m.: The People’s Liberation Big Band
6:30 p.m.: Mike Metheny Quartet
7:40 p.m.: Deborah Brown and Central Jazz Tim with Matt Otto
8:50 p.m.: Bobby Watson Quartet Featuring Curtis Lundy
(If you should be in the mood for a pre-game pep rally, tune in to Up to Date with Steve Kraske today at 11 a.m., which will feature Deborah Brown, Bobby Watson and Brad Cox from the Jazz Fest lineup).
Public parking will be available in the following lots: SM East senior lot, SM East junior lot, Prairie Village Public Pool lot, Mission Road Bible Church lot, and Community of Christ Church lot.
Admission and parking are free. Pets, coolers and outside food and alcohol are prohibited.
Food vendors on site will be: BRGR, Urban Table, Culver’s, New York Dawg Pound, Butter Fluff Popcorn and RA Sushi.
