Dr. Lillian Pardo, a Mission Hills resident and a professor emeritus in pediatrics and neurology at the University of Kansas Medical Center, has been named one of the 100 most influential Filipina women in the United States.
The Filipino Women’s Network will honor Pardo and 99 others at its eighth annual Filipina Leadership Summit in San Francisco Oct. 14.
Pardo has been a force for action in the local Filipino community, spearheading efforts to establish a permanent home for the Kansas City Filipino Cultural Center. She also co-founded the Sinag-Tala Performing Arts Troupe of the Filipino Association.
Joining Pardo on the list are the likes of Executive White House Chef Cristeta Comerford, the first female to hold the position, and renowned designer Monique Lhuillier.
