Franklin Park play stream back up and running, for now at least
Let there be water.
Prairie Village Public Works Director Bruce McNabb reported to the City Council Monday that a series of fixes to the faulty filtering system on Franklin Park’s new play stream appear to have the feature back up in working order. Public Works staff had been wrestling with how to keep the filter functioning properly without getting plugged up by sand, leaves and other debris. The feature had been shut off and blocked off for several weeks while engineers explored fixes. They made some improvements to the system on Friday, and the stream worked through the weekend, McNabb said.
“I’m still not ready to give it a 100 percent guarantee,” McNabb said. “It’s working for now, though, and we’ll be keeping an eye on it.”
