Lancers get early start on football season…with some golf

Even though it may already feel like August outside, it’s still a couple of months before the Lancers football team hits the practice field in preparation for its follow up to last year’s record-breaking season. But that didn’t stop the team and some of its biggest supporters from getting a head start on building camaraderie.

A few dozen supporters joined the team and coaching staff at Prairie Highlands last Friday for the Lancer Gridiron Club Golf Tournament. The event raised money for the club, which sponsors booster events for the team and helps equip players and the coaching staff. The Lancers’ 2011 football season kicks off Sept. 1 against SM Northwest.
