Prairie Village Jazz Festival organizers release lineup for 2011

Organizers of the second annual Prairie Village Jazz Festival have released this year’s lineup, which features performers old and young, from near and far.

Among the headliners will be David Basse and 12th Street Jump, the band that plays a standing Saturday night gig at the downtown Marriott. Like those Saturday night performance, their set at the Jazz Festival will be broadcast on 89.3 KCUR. The festival will also feature a jazz band from Prairie Village’s sister city, Dolyna, Ukraine.

The full lineup is as follows:

• The People’s Liberation Big Band
• Dolyna Jazz Band
• Mike Metheny Quartet
• Deborah Brown with Central Jazz Time, featuring Matt Otto
• The Bobby Watson Quartet
