Tonight’s SM East graduation won’t be moved indoors
SM East administrators are still planning on holding tonight’s graduation ceremony outdoors, but are keeping a close eye on the weather. Current forecasts show a 40 percent chance of showers at 7 p.m., the scheduled start time for the ceremony.
The school’s Web site says administrators will make an announcement between 3 and 4 p.m. today about whether the ceremony will be moved indoors to the SM South gymnasium.
Should weather conditions require the ceremony to be moved indoors, each student’s family will receive five graduation tickets. Attendees must have a ticket to enter the gym. A closed-circuit television feed will allow those who can’t get into the gym to watch the ceremony in the SM South auditorium.
UPDATED: The district has announced that the ceremony will be held outdoors in the SM South stadium as originally scheduled.
