Luv 4 Jazz 5K organizers trying to build goodwill, recruit volunteers

Prairie Village Jazz Festival chair Kathy Peterson went door-to-door Saturday letting people who live along the route of the BRGR Luv 4 Jazz 5K run know that the roads along their houses will be closed off during the run. See the Google map below for an overview of the race route.

“People who live along race routes can feel a little pinned in, sometimes, so we’re trying to give everyone plenty of notice,” Peterson said.

By and large, Peterson said, neighbors reacted well to the news, though “there was one guy who had a look on his face that suggested he wasn’t too pleased.”

Organizers are still looking for volunteers for the event on Sunday, May 15. Volunteers will be able to take part in a party after the race, with food and drink provided by BRGR. Registration for the race opens at 7 a.m., with the start at 8 a.m. For more information, visit the Facebook page for the run.
