73rd Street fire still under investigation; department hopes to determine cause in coming weeks

Division Chief Gary Lamons of Consolidated Fire District 2 said Thursday the department still had the cause of last week’s house fire on 73rd Street as undetermined, but would be continuing its investigation. Lamons said it would likely be two to three weeks before fire investigators and insurance adjusters could safely access the basement, where the fire is likely to have started.
