Yet another new restaurant coming to Prairie Village: ‘Story’ to start this spring

The site that will become Story, a new restaurant in The Village Shops

Looks like Prairie Village is quick becoming a gourmet diner’s dream.

The Kansas City Star’s Joyce Smith reported in today’s paper that former Michael Smith and Extra Virgin chef de cuisine Carl Thorne-Thomsen and his wife Susan will be opening a restaurant called Story in The Village Shops.

The restaurant will be going in at 3931 W. 69th Terrace, a space previously occupied by Natural Wear, and next to the space recently vacated by Curious Sofa. The couple say they’re shooting for a spring opening.

This marks the third new restaurant announcement for the area in as many months. Prairie Village resident and industry veteran Kelly Manning announced in November he would be opening a new independent restaurant called Tavern in the Village. The owners of BRGR announced December that the would be opening a new restaurant called Urban Spoon in the Corinth Shops.

Smith reports that Story will have three menus: lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner.
