City, KCP&L seeking feedback on Prairie Village LED streetlights

Now that the pilot LED streetlight program KCP&L initiated along 79th Street has been up for a couple of months, the city and KCP&L are asking residents what they think of the new lights.

Three different kinds of LED streetlights were installed along 79th Street this fall. KCP&L replaced 44 traditional high-pressure sodium streetlights with the more efficient LED lights throughout the metro area to test how the functioned and what residents thought of them.
