Cell tower going up 63rd St. and Mission Rd. fire station
The cell phone tower approved unanimously by the Prairie Village city council this June is currently under construction on the grounds of the Johnson County Fire Department station at 63rd Street and Mission Road, just north of Indian Hills Middle School.
The tower will be used by the fire department as well as mobile carrier Verizon Wireless. The tower has the capacity to serve two other carriers, but it has not been announced which companies will contract to use the additional bandwidth.
