Mission Hills photographer preparing for seventh Plaza Art Fair
The annual Plaza Art Fair brings exhibitors to Kansas City from across the country — and even around the world.
But if you’re looking for some home-grown creations this weekend, be sure to swing by and take a look at Rusty Leffel’s photography.
The Mission Hills native, who will be displaying at the Plaza for the seventh time, produces striking black and white images from urban areas, saying he “loves using photography to capture the emotions you feel when you’re in a city.”
This year, he’ll be displaying new work from trips to New York and Chicago.
And though much of his photography may focus on bigger towns, Leffel said he feels lucky to have the chance to display his work close to home.
“I must say, the Plaza is an outstanding art fair,” Leffel said. “I displayed at the Brookside and Prairie Village fairs this year, too — it’s wonderful to have such high quality events in your own backyard.”
Leffel will be at booth 145, near the Pomona Courtyard outside of Eddie Bauer.
