Trader Joe’s location to open at Ward Parkway

Prairie Village, Mission Hills and old Leawood residents will soon be the envy of Charles Shaw fans across KC.

Trader Joe’s, the famous grocer that’s gained legions of devotees nationwide for its affordable house-brand products (and cheap beer and wine), has announced it will open two Kansas City locations in 2011 — one of which will be at Ward Parkway. The other location will be at 119th Street and Roe Avenue.
