Dog Pawz dog day care opens in old Leawood

Speaking of dogs…

A new dog daycare and overnight stay business has just opened its doors in the Leawood Shops Plaza, at the intersection of Lee Boulevard and Somerset Road.

Dog Pawz Play ‘N Stay at 7960 Lee Blvd. will offer doggie daycare in three play areas — one each for small, medium and large breeds — as well as grooming services.

Owner Dan Thompson (center) along with managers Jacalyn French (left) and Megan Ostrander (right) said they felt demand for such services would be high in the Prairie Village and old Leawood area.

“We looked around at this area and said, ‘Hey, this could really work here,’” Thompson said.
