Yoder’s got plenty of money…but where are his campaign signs?

State Rep. Kevin Yoder may be dominating the fundraising race among the crowded Republican field of candidates seeking the District Three congressional seat being vacated by Rep. Dennis Moore, but in Prairie Village and Fairway, at least, he appears to be losing the race to see who can get the most promotional signs planted in area yards.

A drive down the high-traffic corridors of Roe Avenue, 75th Street and Mission Road yesterday yielded more than a dozen sightings of Patricia Lightner for Congress signs, and none for Yoder. Despite trailing him significantly, Lightner, a Lenexa conservative, is Yoder’s closest competitor in terms of fundraising.

Yoder for Congress field director Robert Swift attributed the imbalance to the simple fact that the campaign just hasn’t sent signs to everyone who has requested one.

“We have had a focus on yard signs, and have had a lot of people who’ve called and asked for them,” Swift said. “But we haven’t gotten them all out the door yet. You’ll start to see them pop up in the next couple of weeks.”
