Power outage heat related, says KCP&L

The outage that left approximately 2,000 Prairie Village homes without power last night was caused by a heat-related mechanical failure, according to KCP&L. The event was not related to a surge in demand, and is not expected to occur again, said a KCP&L spokeswoman.
